What to bring to an auto repair appointment
A short checklist can make it easier to describe the problem and confirm the next step with the shop.
Before you arrive
- Year, make, model, and approximate mileage.
- When the symptom started and whether it is constant or intermittent.
- Warning-light photos or a note about what the vehicle was doing when the light appeared.
- Recent estimates, service records, or parts already replaced.
For the handoff
- Keys and any wheel-lock key needed for tire or brake work.
- Your preferred phone number and the best way to reach you.
- Tire size or a photo of the tire sidewall when asking about tire service.
- A clear description of the service you want reviewed.
